CMHA Girls Night Out Event

Published:

Join us at My Sisters’ Place on Wednesday, October 21, for Girls’ Night Out, an awareness and fundraising event in support of overnight resting spaces.

This year, featuring Sarah Smith, an award-winning singer/songwriter and advocate for mental health and well-being, for an evening of music, community, and meaningful impact.

In December 2025, My Sisters’ Place expanded its daytime services to provide something urgently needed: safe, overnight resting spaces for women in our community. The transformed space includes ten reclining chairs, along with blankets, pillows, clothing, snacks, showers, and the dignity of a warm place to rest.

For women experiencing or at risk of homelessness, the night can bring increased risk of violence, harassment, and fear, especially when sleeping outdoors or in mixed-gender spaces. These overnight resting spaces offer more than shelter from the cold and snow; they offer safety, comfort, connection, and a chance to reset
