The 79th annual Fredericton Music Festival is set to begin on Monday, April 20th and will continue through Thursday, April 30th.
Residents of the capital region will once again have an opportunity to hear the many young musical talents from the greater Fredericton area, with over 700 entries performing in eight venues across the city. Highly qualified professionals have been selected from Atlantic Canada and beyond to adjudicate the wide variety of classes in choir, band, piano, strings, voice, woodwinds, musical theatre, indigenous and world music.
The festival provides a wonderful experience for all participants from the youngest beginners to the most seasoned senior performers. As in past years, some of these talented musicians may move on to represent the community at the Provincial and National competitions.
Festival programs are available at Westminster Bookmark, 88 York St. until the start of Festival for $10 cash only. Once the Festival starts, programs will be available for purchase at festival admissions. The cost to attend the festival is $2 per session for adults and students are free.
Festival Passes are $20 and available at all venues during the festival. Cash is preferred at venues and e-transfer is available as necessary.
The Junior and Senior Awards Concerts will take place at 7:00pm on Wednesday May 20th and Thursday May 21st respectively, in the Tom Morrison Theatre at Fredericton High School. Concert admission is $5 and free for students and individuals with a festival pass.
